Chimera

A buddy of mine wanted a steampunk greek mythology
concept drawing, so of course i went for a gorgon. Turned out
he was actually thinking more along the lines of a cupid.
Well, im giving him a chimera anyway, he can take it and like it.

Beauty and the Beast

we had a speedpainting break at work the other day. Jen had drawn a rough doodle of something weird and Mr. Covernton and I decided to expand on her idea. This is what i ended up with.

Varmint

I saw 310 to Yuma (Neat movie, the coolest cowboy
movie since Outlaw Jose Wales) so i had to draw a cowboy.

This started as a speed painting but turned into a six hour project.

Illithids

Arent they cute when they re little? I had the idea of of doing a portrait after seeing the impressionist display at the vancouver art gallery and this is what i ended up with. The other drawings are from earlier this year when I became inspired by some street performers at the PNE. The bejing acrobats were technically amazing, but i also ran into a couple of ozzies who screwed up a bunch of their acts and were bitching each other out, but then managed to pull off an insanely hard trick, namely spinning 6 hullahoops while standing on top of each other. I was impressed.

Some more stuff, once again fantasy based. The old computer had a viral relapse, forcing Kamen to take drastic measures and send the foul contagion to Hades, also known as the recycling bin of no return.

Its D&D

My computer has suffered from a nasty cold as of late and has been down for the last two week. Luckily a good friend of mine has volunteered his services to combat the great evil, but the old beast wont be back up again for at least another week. In the meantime some friends of mine are getting together to play some dungeons and dragons, so i did a painting to celebrate.

The Things in the basement

Temple

I used a few photoshop techniques that i ve never tried before with this one, mainly taking textures from photos of rocks and pasting them onto the statue (Which was supposed to be cow but i thought he needed a mane so now he looks more like a dragon which is fine with me) Actually i think he really really wanted to be a tiki but i was trying to keep them out of this one but they seem to influence everything that i do.

I decided to try simplify one of my drawings to make it more cartoony and also clean it up, do a little of that line quality thing (Wha?) Meanwhile two nemedians walked into a bar... a sand bar with cliff over it that is.

My Next Ride (In a perfect world)

I havent drawn that many robots since before i got into school, so this is a little trip down memory lane for me.

I did this guy last summer but i never got around to taking a picture of him.

I was going to color these so i could join the " look how well i can color characters" club but i just didnt get around to it, lazy bastard that i am.

Hey look more moas, what a sirprise. I cant help it, at some point im going to have a make a real one of these guys for my backyard.

A friend of mine got me into the new dark horse conan the babarbarian a while ago and its inspired me to draw some hyborian denizens.

I call this one " the cave thats held up by headless men who are being held by squid but they kinda look like women cause of the lighting." Or i could just call it "The cave".
